Leadership Storytelling: Communicating Who You Are & What You Believe

Room : B116 - Storytelling is an effective tool used by leaders to advocate, teach, inspire, and communicate values. In this interactive session, participants will learn about the variety of contexts in which leaders can use stories, highlight the characteristics of stories that make them “stick,” and begin the process of developing their own leadership story.

Dr. Profit-Rheinwald Biography:

Dr. Brittany Profit Rheinwald is the Director and Associate Professor of the Higher Education Administration (MSEd) and Educational Leadership (EdD) programs at SUNY Brockport, where she developed the institution’s first EdD program. She teaches courses in leadership, research, assessment, and internships, and is actively involved in campus and community engagement, including co-founding Brockport Community Connection and advising student organizations. Her research focuses on food and housing insecurities, leadership, and supporting online learners. Dr. Brit holds multiple degrees, including an EdD in Learning and Organizational Change from Baylor University, and resides in Brockport with her husband and two Labrador Retrievers.

Dr. Fegley Biography:

Dr. Josh Fegley is a full-time faculty member in the EdD in Educational Leadership Program at SUNY Brockport, where he teaches courses in leadership, diversity, research methods, and dissertation seminars. A SUNY Brockport alumnus, he earned his EdD in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher University and previously served as faculty in Public Health and Health Education. Dr. Fegley’s research and service focus on student development, leadership, prevention, and crisis communication, and he has led multiple federally and privately funded projects. He has been recognized with numerous teaching and advisement awards, including UB’s Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching and St. John Fisher’s Outstanding Adjunct Teaching Award.
