Navigating Political Division

Room: 222 - This workshop will explore the increased political polarization in the United States and the damage which it causes to all of us. Across the political spectrum, we all have a responsibility to work together to reduce this division. By sharing their experiences and discussing the issue, participants will be able to better understand what they can do as leaders to avoid and reduce this extreme division 

Presenter: Joseph Powell

Joseph Powell is a Sophomore at SUNY Brockport. He grew up homeschooling in Virginia, and this unique form of education combined with his shift in environment when he moved to Rochester, NY helped him develop creativity and an unusual perspective. He is majoring in Political Science, and he cares deeply about helping to reduce some of the huge inequalities and suffering in the U.S. as well as building bridges between groups of people and helping them to appreciate their shared humanity.
