Patron Types
Undergraduate Students must present a valid SUNY Brockport ID card in order to borrow materials from Drake Memorial Library. This card can be obtained through Brockport Information & Technology Services (BITS).
Items in the Library’s Tech Tools and Course Reserves collections have their own set of lending periods and policies. Undergraduate Students may have a total of 100 items checked out at any one time.

Faculty members may establish proxy borrowing for their student assistants by filling out the Drake Library Proxy Borrowing Form.
Faculty are eligible for borrowing privileges at most Rochester area academic libraries through the Rochester Regional Library Council. For a complete description of participating libraries, visit the RRLC Access Pass page. Access cards can be requested by emailing drakelib@brockport.edu.

*Our agreements prohibit remote access to licensed research databases to individuals other than current students, faculty, and staff of SUNY Brockport.
ǂ Alumni, Community Users, and other Guest Patrons do not have printing privileges at the Drake Memorial Library. Staff are encouraged to use their judgement for small printing requests on a case-by-case basis. Patrons with larger print jobs may be directed to the public library and/or the UPS Store in Brockport for printing services.
College Alumni
College Alumni are eligible for a Courtesy Card. Alumni must first have a Banner ID number must also provide a valid form of ID and proof of current address to obtain a Courtesy Card.
Courtesy Cards expire one year from the date of issue. Alumni users are subject to all rules and regulations pertaining to the use of library materials, including those relating to recalled books, fines and charges for lost materials. Borrowers who do not pay such fines and charges will be blocked from further circulation privileges until such fines are paid.
If the alumnus does not have a Banner ID number, they can obtain one by first contacting the Office of Alumni Engagement at (585) 395-2068 or by emailing alumni@brockport.edu. Once the alumnus has the Banner ID number, they may return to the library and re-apply for a Courtesy Card.
Alumni are also eligible for remote access to selected databases via Banner. For setup, alumni must contact the Office of Alumni Engagement at (585) 395-2068 or by emailing alumni@brockport.edu.

Summary of Privileges
The RRLC Access Pass is a direct borrowing program that enables library users affiliated with a participating library to access materials onsite and borrow directly from another library with which they are not formally affiliated. The program is meant to provide serious library users with access to resources that are not available at their home library, nor available in other libraries open to the public. Current Brockport students and faculty are eligible to obtain a pass. For further information and to request a pass, please contact Drake Library at drakelib@brockport.edu.
Policies
Loan periods vary - please check the various patron type sections above for further details. Due dates for materials are indicated on loan receipts which are sent to your Brockport email address.
Some materials may be renewed. You can attempt to renew materials online using your My Library Card account, in person at the Library Circulation Desk during open hours, or by phone at (585) 395-2277. Interlibrary Loan due dates and renewal policies are set by the lending library. Renewals can be requested via your My Library Card account.
Holds for materials can be placed through the Library Catalog. An email will be sent to your Brockport email address when your item is ready for pickup from the Library Circulation Desk.
The purpose of library charges is to ensure the prompt return of library materials to Drake Memorial Library.
All patrons are subject to all rules and regulations pertaining to the use of library materials, including those relating to recalled books and charges for lost or damaged materials. Borrowers who do not pay such charges will be blocked from further circulation privileges until they are paid.

Should an item be returned in good condition, both the replacement and processing charge will be waived.
In lieu of replacement charges, the library will accept a new or like-new copy of the item, at the discretion of library staff.
Paying Lost & Damaged Item Charges
Payment may be made using a credit card in person at the Drake Memorial Library circulation desk or via phone during business hours.
You may use this form or use the ‘Report this item as not on shelf’ link at the bottom of a Primo catalog entry to report an item that cannot be found on the shelves. Circulation Staff will be in contact with you regarding your submission.
Course Reserves, Tech Tools, and Interlibrary Loan items must be returned directly to Circulation Desk staff members.
All other materials can be returned to book drops in the following locations:
- Circulation Desk at Drake Memorial Library
- Outside book drops:
- Next to the entrance of the Drake Memorial Library
- Under the bridge between Drake Memorial Library and Tuttle North on New Campus Drive
- In the Tower 4 stairwell on the west side of the library accessible via the Allen Loop
Receipts for returns are generated automatically and sent to your Brockport email address.

**Books may be sent at lower cost by requesting “Media Mail” at the Post Office.**

We reserve the right to send delinquent accounts to Student Accounts, which will send the account to the College’s Collection Agency. The patron will be responsible for all additional fees and penalties added by the Agency.
Report lost or stolen ID cards to the Library and to the University Police office.
