Internship Opportunities

Rose Archives Internships

Rose Archives Interns gain hands-on experience with organizing, describing, and preserving historical materials through projects, discussions with archivists, and readings. They will help visitors with research questions and locating materials. By the end of the internship, interns will be able to create detailed archival records, update collection guides, evaluate gifts and accessions, digitize archival materials, and more.

  • Available to two students per semester.
  • An interest in archival methods and careers related to archival work is preferred.
  • Interns will be paid current minimum wage for up to 12 hours per week.
  • Interns must be available to work during business hours, typically 8am to 5pm.
  • Interns must be enrolled in their major department’s internship course or the general Brockport internship course.

Academic Librarianship Internships

Academic Librarianship Interns will receive an introduction to operations of the library’s three departments: Access Services, Technical Services, and Research and Instruction Services. Through hands-on experience, readings, and discussions with library staff, interns will gain experience and understanding of foundational concepts, services, systems, and library functions.

  • Available to one student per semester.
  • Students from all majors with an interest in academic librarianship as a career are encouraged to apply.
  • Interns will be paid current minimum wage for up to 12 hours per week.
  • Interns must be available to work during business hours, typically 8am and 5pm.
  • Interns must be enrolled in their major department’s internship course or the general Brockport internship course.

  • Applicants should provide a resume or curriculum vitae (c.v.) and a cover letter highlighting their career goals and interests.
  • Qualified applicants will be invited to interview for the position (in-person or via Microsoft Teams).
