Papers from all disciplines are eligible if they were written for any course during calendar year 2025. Students do not need to write a paper specifically for this competition. Submissions must be 9–20 pages, include at least 10 references, and contain a library resources use statement.
Cash awards have increased this year: $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place, and $250 for third place.
New this year, authors must ensure that submitted papers meet accessibility guidelines for online publication in the SUNY Digital Repository.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to share this opportunity with undergraduate students, as faculty encouragement plays an important role in student participation.
